Deborah's Bio

DEBORAH ANN KAKO

Deborah has been studying, practicing and teaching in the healing arts for twenty years. Originally a teacher in special education, she was on the faculty of Beverly School for the Deaf and Essex Agricultural Institute.

Deborah is a nationally licensed mental health counselor and expressive art therapist who has two Master degrees from Lesley University. She is employed in the western medical model and private practice. Her work supports the integration of eastern and western theories in healing by incorporating yoga science and the arts into the community and hospital setting.

She is a certified Kripalu yoga teacher. Her yoga background includes studies with Lindsey Titus, Diana DaMelio, Ann Greene, Richard Fauld, Stephen Cope, Rama Berch, Ana Forrest, Gary Kraftsow, Rod Stryker and Shiva Rea.

Deborah is the founder of the Alternative and Integrative Therapy Center. Her area of interest is in improving awareness of the mind/body connection and increasing the role of the creative arts in education, health and wellness. She specializes in being present.
